Manage your app

Unpublish, shut down, or delete an app

Choose the action that matches what you want to stop, and know what is retained.

An app with its address, activity, and resources in one place

Remove public access

In Settings, choose Unpublish and confirm. The app’s saved release and resources remain. Running compute and retained resources can still incur charges. Choose Publish again when you want the saved addresses to serve the app.

Unpublishing does not create a staging environment. Use Environments for a separate copy you can test.

Stop application compute

Choose Shut down app to stop the app’s runtime. Wait for the worker to confirm that it has stopped. Choose Start app to run the saved release again.

Database data, saved releases, and addresses are retained. Databases and storage may still incur charges while application compute is stopped.

Delete with a recovery window

You can recover the project for seven days. Recovery returns it to your project list while keeping it stopped and unpublished. Start and publish it when you are ready.

The recovery deadline is not a promise that retained data is automatically erased at that instant. Permanent resource cleanup is handled separately. Protected platform services do not expose these destructive controls.

  1. Choose Review deletion in Settings.
  2. Review the resources that will be retained and acknowledge the warning.
  3. Type the project name exactly and confirm Delete project.
  4. Wait for the project to be stopped and unpublished.
