Ship your first app

Connect your coding agent, review the cost, and put your app online.

An app moving from your workspace through staging to production

Before you start

You need a Shipped account, an app on your computer, and a coding agent that can run a local MCP server. Sign in to the portal and verify your email. Deployment access is currently limited to approved testers.

The current connector runs from a local Shipped Platform checkout with Node.js 24 and its dependencies installed. A hosted MCP endpoint and a public connector installer are not available yet.

Connect your agent

  1. Open Connect agent in the portal.
  2. Create a named token. Enable credit spending only if you want the agent to request deployment approvals and credit purchases.
  3. Save the token privately, then follow the setup guide for your coding agent. Tokens are shown once and expire after 30 days.
  4. Open your app folder in the agent. Set SHIPPED_WORKSPACE_ROOT to that same folder.

Ask it to ship

Your agent packages the local source and checks the deployment plan. You can deploy without pushing to GitHub. Review the destination, database requirements, and cost before approving.

If the account needs more credits or a different limit, the agent returns the required action. A purchase and a deployment are separate approvals.

Prompt
Ship this app to Shipped. Show me the project, resources,
and credit cost before starting. Ask before spending credits.

Open your app

  1. Wait for the deployment to succeed. An accepted request means work has started; it does not mean your app is live.
  2. Open Projects and select the app. Open app takes you to its generated address.
  3. Use Deployments for build progress and Logs for application output.
